~* Garrett wil be 7 ! *~

Who can believe that Garrett is turning 7!  The past 7 years have gone by so fast!  He has decided that this year he would like to invite his classmates to his birthday party!  Against my better judgement, I agreed!  We are having a bowling party for him ~ wish me luck!

~* Yeah Garrett! *~

YEAH Garrett!  He got 4th place in the Box Tops contest at school this year, which earned him a dress-down day once a month (which I am not thrilled about! ha!) It is much easier to put him in a uniform and ship him out the door!  Garrett sends out special thanks to my Aunt Connie for sharing her Box Tops with us!

We have been trying to support St. Pat's girls basketball team on the weekends since our good friend Julie is coaching it! and the boys's 2 favorite friends play on the team (GO! Taylor and McKenzie!) We have truly enjoyed watching them play!  I have to say that the Irish have on kick-butt team!  The boys love sitting with Lou, who we swam all summer with as well!

Halloween is coming....our costumes are ordered!  Anyone want to take a guess at what the boys are being this year?  Hope this finds you all doing well!

A Good Ending to a Bad Weekend!

It didn't end up being a great weekend for my mom's birthday!  Friday evening we learned that my grandma had fallen earlier in the week (and didn't tell anyone) and couldn't walk!  My parents took her to the ER and found out that she had a broken pelvis ....... it is terrible to see someone you love so much be in that kind of pain.  It brings back a flood of emotions, remembering when my grandma Rocky broke her hip a short 5 years ago!

On a brighter note, Hunter Bug shot her first buck last night with a crossbow! A 9 point, 16 inch spread! The first buck of the season for our family! I am so stinking proud of her! That is something that I never did! My dad tried to make a hunter out of me and it just didn't happen! I am so glad that my dad got to see her shoot it! He said that she was pretty excited and "made a lot of noise" out there in the woods celebrating!

I love this picture of her and Brian!  I just know it made his day as well!

That's my girl Hunter Bug!  Aunt Shawn is proud of you girl!

Happy 60th Birthday MOM!

Today is a special day because it is my mother's 60th birthday today. She was on my heart and mind when I woke up this morning. I am so thankful for her unconditional love and for her consistency in all of our lives. I am thankful that she is an active part of our lives and that my children know her well. The older I get the more I realize that loving and Godly parents are a gift, a gift that not everyone receives. I am thankful to God this morning for my parents and the family that I was born into. My life has been blessed because of both of them.

Well, Happy Birthday Mom! I love you and hope you have a fantastic day.

*~ It is COLD! *~

I don't know about you, but I think Garrett is trying to tell us it is time to fire up the woodstove!?  Eating with his hoodie on!

I personally think it is time for the nice weather to come back!

~* Another Tooth GONE! *~

Yesterday Garrett lost his 4th tooth!  The other top front one, so he can officially say that all he wants for Christmas is his 2 front teeth!

eeeeewwwww Garrett, what a scary face!!!!  ha!
Yesterday, I also made up my mind that I was going to paint my living room!  My wonderful mother had volunteered for the boys to come over to her house so that I could do it and get it done without the hassle of them wanting to help me! ha ~ well, they insisted that they wanted to stay home.....that was fine with me, however I told them right up front that I was painting (by myself) and that they would have to play with the toys in the basement until I was finished...... they agreed ;)  SO I began painting and it was so quiet ..... quiet in this house usually means that something WRONG is going on!  Not wanting to quit what I was doing, I continued to paint!  In the meantime, my mom came over to my house to play with the boys here....I forewarned her that they had been playing so quiet that I wasn't sure what they were into!  BY COMPLETE SURPRISE, when we went to look they were working together on putting a track together for the Thomas trains.......... a track that was AMAZING!

We have had our Thomas stuff since Garrett was 18 mos and it hasn't been played with for years!  I was so impressed with the track that they had put together!  The pictures really don't do it justice, but it was AWESOME and they played so nice and let me paint!  It was a successful weekend! minus one tooth! ha!
